Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Nurse III to lead policy development and advisory efforts for the CSHCN, KHC, and HAP programs in Austin. You will collaborate with regional and central office teams to improve standards of care and program operations.

You will review policies, provide expert consultation, and participate in cross-agency workgroups while supervising others and ensuring timely clinical follow-up and program compliance.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience evaluating policy and/or procedure development or improvement activities.
• At least one (1) year experience in Texas Health and Human Services operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the development of policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards of care for the CSHCN Services Program.
• Participates in state level planning and development of systems of care for persons with special health care needs and their families.
• Participates in the urgent need determination process and adjudicates program medical reviews.
• Represents HHSC on cross-functional workgroups and teams related to children and adults with special health care needs.
