Job summary

Campaign Legal Center seeks a Senior Policy Manager to advance federal policy priorities in Congress and the executive branch. This role lobbies policymakers, helps design strategies, and coordinates across program areas including voting rights, redistricting, and government ethics.

The position reports to the Director of Federal Advocacy, requires registration as a federal lobbyist, and offers telework with in-person reporting in Washington, DC when lobbying activities occur.

Qualifications

  • Five to ten years of experience in legislative work, federal lobbying, policy advocacy, or related campaigns.
  • Substantive expertise in voting rights, redistricting, campaign finance, government ethics, or the rule of law is preferred but not required.
  • Commitment to nonpartisan mission and Culture Principles.
  • Ability to blend policy knowledge with political insights and to support advocacy strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain relationships with congressional offices and monitor legislation, hearings, and votes.
  • Lead federal advocacy for selected issue areas and coordinate with program teams.
  • Draft reports, memos, bill explainers, fact sheets, letters, blogs, talking points, and other materials.
  • Assist in drafting testimony and statements for the record and prep witnesses for hearings.
  • Track rulemakings and contribute to analysis of policy proposals with program teams.
  • Engage with coalitions and represent CLC in coalition meetings and partner forums.
