The American Heart Association in Washington, DC (home-based is acceptable) seeks a Senior Policy Analyst to translate science into policy for tobacco and systems of care, and to develop policy briefs and position statements for advocacy at state and federal levels.

You will manage writing processes, coordinate expert input, and maintain external relationships with coalitions and government agencies while contributing to policy evaluation and communications for the advocacy portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Public Policy, Healthcare Administration, Political Science or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of relevant experience in policy or public health advocacy.
• Minimum 3 years translating science and medical research into public policy.
• Proficient knowledge of health policy issues including public health and tobacco prevention.

Responsabilités

• Translates science into policy for assigned issues and supports state/federal advocacy.
• Develops policy statements, regulatory comments, and policy briefs.
• Leads writing processes and coordinates experts and volunteers.
• Represents policy research at conferences and with coalitions.
