Job summary

The Chandler Police Department is seeking a Police Commander to oversee a division, plan and supervise staff, and ensure efficient operations. This position reports to the Police Chief or Assistant Chief and has latitude for independent judgment.

Minimum qualifications require a Bachelor's degree, at least five years as Lieutenant or higher with a department of 100+ sworn personnel, AZPOST certification, and a valid Arizona driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• At least five years of experience at Lieutenant or higher rank.
• AZPOST certification is required.
• Valid Arizona driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and review activities of all personnel assigned to a division.
• Work under the direct supervision of the Police Chief or Assistant Chief.
• Supervise Lieutenants, Sergeants, Officers and other non-sworn staff.
