Job summary

APA International places a Sr Project Manager in Las Vegas, NV for 12-month Transmission and Distribution projects. You will oversee complex multi‑discipline efforts, manage scope, cost, schedule, and risk, and ensure safety and compliance across all activities.

Responsibilities include planning, resource coordination, progress monitoring, stakeholder communication, and contract administration to ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field from an accredited school.
• 7+ years of related experience in utility design and/or utility experience; and 3+ years of project management experience.
• Experience managing Large Generator Interconnections a plus.
• Utility engineering practices with an emphasis on transmission and substation design; critical path method scheduling; work breakdown structure; utility accounting practices; economic analysis; company policies, rules and regulations; construction methods; contract administration; equipment specifications; property rights; and local, state and federal permitting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the development of project plans, including project scope, cost estimates, schedule and cash flow.
• Executes the project plan upon approval. Coordinates acquisition of human resources, equipment, permits, land and land rights.
• Monitors and controls the project, including safety, scope, cost, schedule, cash flow, quality and risk.
• Measures and communicates project performance to customers and stakeholders.
• Manages changes to the project plan. Ensures all project objectives are achieved.
• Works with customers and stakeholders to develop and evaluate project alternatives.
• Coordinates the development of the project team, including stakeholders and functional group members.
• Supports development, approval, and administration of the business unit ten-year plan for capital investment.
• Coordinates negotiation, execution, and administration of agreements with customers, suppliers, service providers, and contractor resources.
• Coordinates project close‑out, including final acceptance of project deliverables; transfer of ownership; status of project id; project accounting audit and true‑up; and final project report.
• Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.
