Job summary

Welty Energy & Infrastructure (WE&I) is seeking a Senior Project Manager for the Transmission and Substation Project Management team. The role focuses on planning, organizing, and coordinating substation and transmission line projects (69kV–765kV) with a push toward mentorship of junior staff, and in-person work in Akron, OH or Northern Ohio with ~15% travel to sites.

You will coordinate with stakeholders, act as primary client contact, and conduct technical reviews to ensure constructability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent years of experience in electric utility project management.
• Minimum of 10-15 years plus, of experience in project management for the Electric Utility sector specializing in high voltage (Sub and Tx).
• PMP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure clear communication across the project lifecycle.
• Serve as primary client contact for projects.
• Review specifications, drawings, contracts to ensure constructability per standards.
• Lead project planning and status meetings to monitor schedule and budget.
• Provide schedule and budget updates to management.
• Oversee construction package reviews, field visits, and pre-award activities.
• Coordinate outages, permits, and approvals to avoid schedule conflicts.
• Support Portfolio Manager in reporting significant project activities.
• Conduct site safety inspections and ensure client expectations are met.
