Job summary

Georgia-Pacific seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead multi-year capital programs in Pulp, Power & Recovery. You will guide projects from concept through commissioning, coordinating engineering, construction, safety and finance to deliver on time and within budget.

Based in the Southeast or willing to relocate, you must have 10+ years of capital project experience, manage projects over $15M, lead cross-functional teams, and travel up to 80% to support development and startup activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management or Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related).
• 10+ years of progressive project management experience, including capital equipment or major construction/capital projects.
• Experience managing projects over $15M.
• Ability to travel at least 80% to support development, execution, outages, startups, and mill engagement.
• Experience leading cross-functional engineering and construction teams.
• Strong knowledge of phase gate project management practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple capital projects ($15MM-$150MM+) across full lifecycle (P0-P6).
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans including scope, schedule, budget, and risk management.
• Lead cross-functional teams spanning engineering, maintenance, operations, finance, safety, and construction.
• Foster alignment across internal stakeholders and external partners; ensure alignment on requirements, scope and deliverables.
• Drive FEL development and execution readiness (P0-P3).
• Oversee detailed design, contractor coordination, outage execution, and startup (P4-P6).
