Job summary

Kimmel & Associates client seeks seasoned Project Managers at APM, PM, and Senior PM levels to lead large-scale heavy civil and environmental projects across the Southeast, with two positions available. Ideal candidates will manage earthwork, environmental, underground utilities, paving, or related work, with CCR experience preferred.

Projects range from $20M to $250M and include CCR/coal ash, landfill, and heavy civil/site development.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager, Senior APM, or Senior Project Manager in heavy civil construction.
• Experience with large-scale earthwork, environmental construction, underground utilities, paving, or related heavy civil work.
• CCR, coal ash, ash pond closure, or landfill construction experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of project financials, scheduling, cost control, change management, and client communication.
• Primavera P6 experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage project schedules, budgets, cost control, billing, change orders, and overall financial performance.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Lead project teams including Superintendents, Foremen, equipment operators, and other field personnel.
• Oversee large-scale earthmoving and environmental construction operations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for owners and clients.
• Manage owner document control, compliance requirements, reporting, and project documentation.
• Maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate mobilization, execution, subcontractors, equipment, materials, and project closeout.
• Maintain a significant on-site presence, particularly on long-term power plant projects.
• Partner directly with the VP of Operations on project strategy and execution.
• Help develop and strengthen the company’s growing Project Management team.
