Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants seeks a seasoned Project Management Technical Director for Northern and Central California. You will drive strategy, oversee complex environmental projects, and shape PM practices across a multi-office subregion.

Reporting to the VP, you will lead senior teams, promote best practices, and ensure delivery excellence while traveling regionally and supporting business growth and client service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field and significant PM experience.
• Proven ability to lead large, complex, multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and performance tracking skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify strategic initiatives and drive project management consistency across the subregion.
• Lead development and maintenance of PM standards, processes, tools, and templates.
• Foster cross-discipline collaboration and effective communication across offices.
• Lead change management for PM practices, focusing on engagement and user adoption.
• Drive continuous improvement of project performance, training, and KPI tracking.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and mentoring of PM staff.
• Oversee large, complex programs with a focus on productivity and client service.
