Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Critical Facilities Senior Project Manager to lead MEP-heavy construction programs on site, coordinating with owners, architects, engineers and contractors.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering, 5–7 years of project management experience, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Procore.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in construction management, civil engineering, or related field.
• 5–7 years of relevant project management experience.
• Strong organizational and management skills with ability to collaborate with broader teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage stakeholders including architects, engineers, and supply chains to deliver compliant projects.
• Analyze, track, and effectively manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slips.
• Verify that effective project governance, processes and systems are utilized
• Ensure application of best practice on all projects.
• Production of formal project status reports and other reports as required.
• Monitor the progress of multiple construction projects to ensure adherence to design standards.
• Manage interface between all suppliers through monthly trackers and weekly reviews.
• Manage flow of project information between the project team via meetings and written communications.
• Forecast and update key project milestones.
• Manage and monitor local design teams in accordance with commission criteria.
• Provide technical support to owners, architects, general contractors and regional stakeholders.
• Rapid response to RFIs from the field.
• Provide expertise for cost control, value engineering, and constructability guidance.
• Independent review of status reports, drawing submittals, timelines and costs from architects, contractors and suppliers.
• Client management – develop working relationships with Clients to maximize opportunities.
• Strategic Thinking - advise project teams on approaches to achieve client and business objectives.
• Knowledge management – capture learnings from each project.
• Process improvement – identify ways to improve internal systems and processes.
