Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering (BLE) is seeking a Project Manager to lead CMT and special-inspection projects in the Charlotte area. You will coordinate clients, field technicians, inspectors, and lab staff to ensure proper scoping, staffing, scheduling, execution, documentation, and billing.

The role serves as the primary day-to-day contact for clients and supports leadership to maintain responsive field coverage, technical quality, and profitable project performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; advanced education or training in construction materials testing preferred.
• Current Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification with ability to obtain PE licensure, or current PE licensure; NC license or comity.
• Typically 5+ years of progressive experience in construction materials testing, special inspections, geotechnical engineering, or related engineering consulting.
• At least 2 years of direct project-management experience in engineering or construction.
• Experience coordinating field-testing, lab activities, and teams of technicians, inspectors, subcontractors, and staff.
• Strong knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, ICC, IBC, and DOT standards; QA/QC practices.
• Experience monitoring project financial performance (budgets, profitability, billing, changes).
• Proficiency with Excel, Procore, Metafield or similar tools.
• Proven ability to develop trusted client relationships and contribute to proposals.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision and technical support to project engineers, field technicians, inspectors, and lab personnel.
• Coordinate testing and inspection services for soils, concrete, asphalt, masonry, and other construction materials.
• Review proposals, testing results, inspection records, and reports; perform QA/QC and act as final reviewer where authorized.
• Serve as primary day-to-day contact for clients, contractors, and design professionals.
• Prepare and manage project scopes, fees, budgets, schedules, and staffing plans.
• Monitor project financial performance, including budget, profitability, billing, and accounts receivable.
• Develop trusted client relationships and support proposals and pursuits.
