Job summary

Barton Malow is seeking a Project Manager for a Battery Energy Storage Systems project in Monroe, MI. This role requires full-time on-site delivery, travel readiness, and coordination with the project team, client, and trades to ensure safety, quality, schedule, and budget goals are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field.
• 8+ years of relevant industrial construction and energy experience.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, project delivery methods, commercial terms, and applicable legal provisions.
• Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, cost forecasting, schedules, change management, procurement, and project controls.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple project priorities and maintain accountability for project deliverables.
• Ability to anticipate project challenges, evaluate risk, and develop practical and effective solutions.
• Ability to manage and embrace change, adapting to new processes, technologies, and perspectives while effectively addressing traditional project challenges.
• Strong negotiation and decision-making skills, with the ability to effectively manage subcontractor, vendor, and client relationships.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and align multidisciplinary project teams toward common project objectives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, senior leadership, project teams, trade partners, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the project team and establish objectives.
• Develop and execute project plans: scope, schedule, budget, procurement, logistics, quality, safety, and risk strategies.
• Assist in bid development and contractor selection.
• Manage budgets, cost reporting, forecasting, and profitability.
• Review and manage subcontractor and vendor contracts and performance.
• Lead change management, pricing, and tracking changes and claims.
• Develop and maintain the baseline schedule with the team and partners.
• Oversee procurement activities and logistics to meet milestones.
• Establish project controls and reporting for cost, schedule, and quality.
• Coordinate with field leadership to align site activities with the schedule and requirements.
• Lead project meetings and document decisions and action items.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and communicate with leadership.
