Barton Malow is seeking a Project Manager for a battery energy storage system project in Monroe, MI. This role requires travel and full-time on-site work at the project location.

You will lead the project team, manage scope, budget, schedule, contracts, procurement, and risk, ensuring safety and quality while meeting contractual requirements. Strong communication with client and stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business, or a related field.
• 8+ years of relevant industrial construction and energy experience, with demonstrated experience managing complex projects.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, project delivery methods, and applicable terms.
• Experience managing project budgets, cost forecasting, schedules, change management, procurement, and project controls.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership for the project team with clear objectives, priorities, and expectations.
• Develops and executes project plans covering scope, schedule, budget, procurement, logistics, quality, and risk management.
• Assists in developing work scopes and front-end documents for bidding and participates in the bid process.
• Manages the project budget, cost reporting, forecasting and financial performance; identifies cost impacts and mitigation strategies.
• Reviews and manages subcontractor and vendor contracts for scope, terms, and compliance.
• Leads change management, including pricing, negotiation, and tracking of changes and claims.
• Develops and maintains baseline schedule with the team and trade partners; monitors progress and risks.
• Oversees procurement activities, material and equipment needs, long-lead items, and delivery schedules.
• Establishes project controls and reporting to monitor cost, schedule, scope, and quality.
• Coordinates with site leadership to ensure alignment with schedule and contract requirements.
• Leads project meetings and ensures action items and decisions are documented.
• Identifies, evaluates, and mitigates project risks and communicates significant risks to leadership.
