Job summary

IES Residential in Lakeland, FL is seeking a experienced Plumbing Instructor to train employees in residential plumbing, code compliance, and best practices. You will deliver hands-on and classroom instruction, develop materials, and assess learning outcomes across divisions.

Responsibilities include maintaining training records, coordinating on-the-job training, and ensuring safety adherence while keeping curricula aligned with IPC and local codes. Travel to local divisions may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of residential plumbing experience.
• Strong knowledge and practical application of the IPC.
• Experience in single-family and multi-family construction.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead classroom instruction that develops the skills, knowledge, and abilities needed for success in the plumbing trade.
• Deliver engaging lessons through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on training, and real-world simulations.
• Coordinate with local divisions to provide on-the-job training opportunities that reinforce classroom learning.
• Maintain accurate training records, attendance, and progress documentation.
• Partner with division leadership to identify training needs for both current and future employees.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
• Teach curriculum that aligns with current plumbing codes and industry standards.
• Effectively manage classroom environments and promote student engagement and success.
• Maintain consistency and quality across training cycles to ensure graduates return to their divisions prepared to contribute immediately.
• Develop, organize, and deliver specialty training courses based on company needs and industry trends.
• Create, revise, and update training materials to reflect code changes, new technologies, and evolving business requirements.
• Travel periodically to local divisions, training sites, and company locations as needed.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
