Job summary

IES Residential in Lakeland, FL seeks a passionate Plumbing Instructor to develop the next generation of plumbing professionals. You will lead classroom instruction, deliver hands-on training, and coordinate on-the-job opportunities across divisions.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of residential plumbing, strong IPC knowledge, and experience with single- and multi-family construction. Travel and safety compliance are part of the role, with teaching experience a plus.

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of residential plumbing experience.
Strong knowledge and practical application of the IPC.
Experience in single-family residential construction.
Experience in multi-family residential construction.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to mentor, motivate, and develop others.
Prior teaching, coaching, or training experience preferred but not required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other training-related software preferred.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

Lead classroom instruction that develops the skills, knowledge, and abilities needed for success in the plumbing trade.
Deliver engaging lessons through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on training, and real-world simulations.
Coordinate with local divisions to provide on-the-job training opportunities that reinforce classroom learning.
Maintain accurate training records, attendance, and progress documentation.
Partner with division leadership to identify training needs for both current and future employees.
Ensure compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
Teach curriculum that aligns with current plumbing codes and industry standards.
Effectively manage classroom environments and promote student engagement and success.
Maintain consistency and quality across training cycles to ensure graduates return to their divisions prepared to contribute immediately.
Develop, organize, and deliver specialty training courses based on company needs and industry trends.
Create, revise, and update training materials to reflect code changes, new technologies, and evolving business requirements.
Travel periodically to local divisions, training sites, and company locations as needed.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
