Job summary

Cosentini Associates, a Tetra Tech company, seeks an experienced Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer to join our Chicago, IL Hybrid team. You will design plumbing and fire protection systems for large buildings, lead project portfolios, and produce coordinated drawings, specifications, and calculations.

Ideal candidates hold a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years of relevant experience, proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit, strong communication, and the ability to travel.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of plumbing and fire protection design experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD; Revit knowledge preferred.
• Excellent technical and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of code and healthcare requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design plumbing and fire protection systems for large buildings and facilities.
• Act as plumbing and fire protection lead on a portfolio of projects.
• Develop detailed drawings, specifications, reports, and schedules.
• Produce calculations for water, gas, storm loads, sizing, and hydraulics.
• Collaborate with architects, clients, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Document work using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Follow internal procedures and safety standards.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and stay informed on industry standards.
