Job summary

Cosentini Associates, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking a mid-level Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer to join the New York team on a hybrid basis. The role focuses on designing plumbing and fire protection systems for large commercial, residential, healthcare, and institutional facilities, leading project work, and generating detailed drawings and calculations.

You will collaborate with architects, clients, and multidisciplinary teams, using Revit and AutoCAD, while ensuring code compliance

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of plumbing and fire protection design experience in commercial, institutional, and healthcare facilities.
• Demonstrated experience in tenant fit outs and ground up construction.
• Proficient with Revit and AutoCAD.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent technical, communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of code and healthcare compliance requirements; project/client relationship management.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team; travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design plumbing and fire protection systems for large commercial, residential, healthcare and institutional facilities.
• Act as plumbing and fire protection lead on a portfolio of projects.
• Develop coordinated detailed design drawings, specifications, reports and schedules.
• Produce detailed engineering calculations, including water, gas & storm loads, equipment sizing and hydraulic calculations.
• Work closely with architects, clients and other multidisciplinary team members.
• Documentation of design work utilizing AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
• Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness.
• Work in a safe manner at all times and report health and safety incidents and concerns.
