Kimley-Horn in Tampa, FL is seeking a Mechanical Plumbing Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our office on-site. You will manage projects, design plumbing systems and coordinate with lead engineers and clients to deliver robust solutions.

The role requires strong communication, proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, and the ability to mentor junior staff while handling RFIs/RFQs. This is an opportunity to contribute to diverse projects within a collaborative, client-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical/plumbing design experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Experience designing plumbing systems (water, sewer, gas) and HVAC systems.
• Experience with energy studies: Comcheck, Title 24.
• Mentoring EITs and designers on multi-discipline projects.
• Strong communication and ability to work in teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead project management in coordination with lead engineers.
• Design plumbing systems including risers, isometrics, and specs.
• Perform system design calculations and equipment selections.
• Layout sanitary, grease, domestic water, and fire sprinkler systems.
• Prepare studies and reports for plumbing systems.
• Oversee MEP design from concept to completion with clients.
• Prepare responses to RFIs and RFQs for clients and marketing.
• Mentor designers and junior staff on projects.
• Deliver tasks with minimal supervision.
