Job summary

Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, is expanding its plumbing engineering group in Seattle and seeks an experienced Senior Plumbing Engineer/Designer to lead plumbing and process piping design from schematic through construction administration.

The role emphasizes sustainable design, field observation, mentoring junior staff, and potential future leadership of a regional plumbing practice within the group.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in consulting, construction, or similar.
• Valid PE license or CPD certification.
• Proficient in Revit (BIM).
• Strong plumbing design experience (commercial, healthcare, process, multifamily residential and/or manufacturing).
• Clear communicator, organized, solution-oriented, able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead plumbing piping designs and prepare construction documents.
• Perform plumbing calculations including: fixture counts, booster pump head, ejector pump head, domestic hot water loads (including heat pump design), storm water, condensate collection, etc.
• Coordinate with ownership, mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural teams.
• Support Construction Administration: RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, and field reports.
• Adhere to QA/QC policies and elevate issues as needed.
• Mentor junior engineers/designers and help grow the local plumbing team.
• Assist with Business Development (BD) opportunities when needed.
