Job summary

Thomas Young Group in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Senior Plumbing Designer to translate architectural drawings into robust plumbing designs, develop layouts, and perform load calculations. You will coordinate with engineers, architects, and other disciplines through all project phases.

You will review shop drawings, support site observations, and assist with clash detection while communicating with contractors during bidding and construction.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of plumbing design experience, or a 2-year technical degree plus 6 years of experience.
• Strong proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and other industry-standard design tools.
• Solid understanding of plumbing codes, system layout, and equipment selection.

Responsibilities

• Translate architectural drawings into plumbing system designs using modeling software.
• Develop layouts, perform load calculations, and select equipment to meet design requirements.
• Coordinate closely with engineers, architects, and other disciplines throughout all project phases.
• Support site observations, review shop drawings, and assist with clash detection in tools like Navisworks.
• Communicate with contractors during bidding and construction to answer design-related questions.
