Job summary

Interface Engineering, Inc. seeks a Senior Plumbing Design Engineer (MEP) to lead plumbing design on multiple projects with a hybrid schedule. As a 100% employee-owned firm, we offer Collaboration from Home and in-office collaboration to balance flexibility with project needs.

You will own the discipline, oversee staff, and work with our MEP team to deliver design, calculations, and construction observations across diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 10+ years' experience in MEP plumbing design/consulting.
• Team leadership/management experience.
• Project management experience in the MEP space.
• Working knowledge of IPC/UPC and IBC standards.
• Complete understanding of building codes.
• Commuting distance to Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities

• Responsibility for plumbing system selection, engineering & design.
• Preparation of Plumbing drawings, sketches, analysis, specifications, and calculations.
• Demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Providing management and oversight of plumbing design support staff.
• Providing construction administration & site observations related to your projects.
• Delivering exemplary service and support to team members and clients.
• Supporting overall project management to our MEP team leaders.
