Job summary

Interface Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Senior Plumbing Design Engineer in Sacramento to lead plumbing design on multiple projects within a collaborative, employee-owned firm.

You will own the discipline, oversee design, and mentor staff while coordinating with the MEP team to deliver high-performance building systems. We value innovation, inclusion, and impact, offering a hybrid schedule (2 days in-office per week minimum), ESOP ownership, and generous benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• 10+ years' experience in MEP plumbing design/consulting.
• Team leadership/management experience.
• Project management experience in the MEP space.
• Working knowledge of IPC/UPC and IBC standards.
• Complete understanding of building codes.
• Thorough design system knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Ownership as a discipline leader on multiple projects.
• Plumbing system selection, engineering & design.
• Prepare plumbing drawings, sketches, analyses, specs, calculations.
• Demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Providing management and oversight of plumbing design support staff.
• Providing construction administration & site observations related to projects.
• Delivering exemplary service and support to team members and clients.
• Supporting overall project management to our MEP team leaders.
