Job summary

Interface Engineering Inc. in Oakland, CA is seeking a Senior Plumbing Design Engineer (MEP) to lead plumbing system design and deliver high-performance building solutions on a hybrid schedule.

You will prepare drawings, calculations, and specifications, supervise design staff, and coordinate project management for our MEP team while maintaining strong client relationships and rigorous adherence to IPC/UPC/IBC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years' experience in MEP plumbing design/consulting.
• Team leadership/management experience.
• Project management experience in the MEP space.
• Working knowledge of IPC/UPC and IBC standards.
• Complete understanding of building codes.
• Commuting distance to Chicago, IL.

• Responsibility for plumbing system selection, engineering & design.
• Preparation of Plumbing drawings, sketches, analysis, specifications, and calculations.
• Demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Providing management and oversight of plumbing design support staff.
• Providing construction administration & site observations related to your projects.
• Delivering exemplary service and support to team members and clients.
• Supporting overall project management to our MEP team leaders.

What You'll Bring:

Required

• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience equivalent to a degree.
• 10+ years' experience in MEP plumbing design/consulting
• Team leadership/management experience
• Project management experience in the MEP space
• Working knowledge of IPC/UPC and IBC standards
• Complete understanding of building codes
• Thorough design system knowledge
• Commuting distance to Chicago, IL

Preferred

• A Professional Engineering License (or equivalent experience)
• CPD Certification
• LEED® Accreditation
• Working Autodesk® REVIT knowledge
