Job summary

Interface Engineering Inc. is seeking a Plumbing Design Engineer II/III (MEP) for Chicago, IL, in a hybrid role. You will lead as a discipline lead on multiple projects, directing plumbing design and coordinating with a skilled team under a 100% employee-owned culture.

Requirements include a BS degree and 2+ years of MEP plumbing design/consulting experience, with knowledge of IPC/UPC/IBC standards. Preferred PE license, LEED, and REVIT proficiency.

Qualifications

  • BS Degree required; 2+ years’ experience in MEP plumbing design/consulting.
  • Working knowledge of IPC/UPC and IBC standards.
  • Professional Engineer license or CPD certification preferred.
  • LEED Accreditation preferred.
  • Autodesk REVIT knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own plumbing system selection, engineering & design across projects.
  • Prepare plumbing drawings, sketches, analyses, specifications, and calculations.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication with team and clients.
  • Provide management and oversight of plumbing staff and aligns with project goals.
  • Perform construction administration and site observations.
  • Deliver exemplary service and support to team members and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Plumbing Design Engineer II/III at Interface, you will be taking ownership as a discipline lead on multiple projects. Your duties will include (but may not be limited to):

  • Responsibility for plumbing system selection, engineering & design
  • Preparation of Plumbing drawings, sketches, analysis, specifications, and calculations
  • Demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Providing management and oversight of plumbing support staff
  • Providing construction administration & site observations related to your projects.
  • Delivering exemplary service and support to team members and clients.
What You’ll Bring:

Required:

  • BS Degree
  • 2+ years’ experience in MEP plumbing design/consulting
  • Working knowledge of IPC/UPC and IBC standards

Preferred:

  • A Professional Engineering License, or CPD certification
  • LEED Accreditation
  • Working Autodesk® REVIT knowledge
