Job summary

The University of Arizona is seeking a Plumber III to perform highly skilled plumbing work on complex commercial and institutional systems. The role requires expert knowledge of codes, mechanical rooms, and valves, with independent operation and leadership to apprentices. Excellent safety, documentation, and coordination skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus apprenticeship/technical training.
  • Five years of relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive per University policy.
  • Journeyman license or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform journeyman-level installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of commercial and institutional plumbing systems.
  • Troubleshoot system failures, leaks, pressure issues, and equipment malfunctions; respond to emergencies.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and national codes; complete work orders and documentations.
  • Provide guidance to apprentices and lower-level plumbers; assist planning of work activities.
  • Coordinate with occupants, supervisors, and contractors; maintain professional appearance and relations.
