Job summary

The University of Arizona is seeking a Plumber III to perform highly skilled plumbing work on complex commercial and institutional systems, including installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair. The role requires expert knowledge of plumbing codes, mechanical room systems, and related equipment, with the ability to diagnose issues from routine service calls to large-scale failures.

Qualifications

High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required, in addition to the education and experience minimum qualifications, Apprenticeship program, technical training experience required.
Five (5) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.

Responsibilities

Perform journeyman-level installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of commercial plumbing systems.
Troubleshoot complex issues, respond to emergencies, and restore systems with minimal downtime.
Ensure compliance with codes, safety standards, and university policies; document work orders.
Provide guidance to apprentices; assist planning and sequencing of tasks.
Communicate professionally with occupants and contractors; maintain professional appearance.
