Job summary

Ulteig Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Systems Integrator III to design, integrate, and commission electrical control systems for substation automation. You will develop PLC and HMI solutions, interpret schematics, and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure performance and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related discipline; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience applying electrical systems, control systems, and automation concepts.
• Experience with PLC programming and HMI design; proficiency in Ladder Logic, FBD, or Structured Text.
• Experience designing/troubleshooting fiber optic networks.
• Ability to read electrical schematics including single-line diagrams and P&ID drawings.
• Experience with HMI design, development, and commissioning.
• Understanding of automation, integration, and system protection principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willing to travel 25-35% of the time.
• Valid driver's license and work authorization in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Design and integrate PLC and HMI systems for renewable energy automation.
• Integrate substation systems including protective relays and RTACs.
• Lead and test electrical control systems under supervision or independently.
• On-site field commissioning such as installation and network troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders for project success.
• Adhere to standards and safety regulations including NERC CIP.
• Learn and apply new technologies and programming techniques.
