Job summary

Opportunity Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer in Holland, MI to design, program, and troubleshoot PLC/HMI controls for custom automated machinery.

Responsibilities include servo motion, machine vision, and robotics integration with field support during installation. Ideal candidates will have strong Allen-Bradley PLC/HMI experience, knowledge of servo motion and vision systems, and an engineering degree or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Strong experience programming Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs.
• Servo motion controls setup and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Cognex/Keyence machine vision.
• Robot programming with FANUC/ABB preferred but not required.
• Able to read and troubleshoot electrical schematics.
• Experience with automated machinery and robotics cells.
• Willingness to travel ~25%.
• Engineering degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design and troubleshoot PLC/HMI control systems.
• Program servo motors, drives, and motion systems.
• Develop vision systems for inspection and guidance.
• Program industrial robots and integrate automation.
• Review electrical schematics and control designs.
• Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers and others.
• Startup, testing, debugging, and commissioning.
• Provide field support during installation.
• Mentor less experienced engineers.
