Job summary

RTX seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to support electroplating and chemical processing in an aerospace landing gear MRO setting in Florida. You will ensure process stability, troubleshoot plating challenges, and drive quality, safety, and efficiency across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include developing work instructions, leading qualification activities, and supporting NADCAP audits while translating engineering requirements into practical shop-floor solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering support for aerospace electroplating and chemical processing, including hard chrome, sulfamate nickel, cadmium plating, and chemical stripping.
• Troubleshoot plating defects and process instability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Analyze plating bath chemistry, operating parameters, and process performance to identify improvements.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions, process documentation, and technical procedures to ensure standardized shop-floor execution.
• Lead process qualification and requalification activities, including qualification plans, testing coordination, evaluation of results, and documentation.
• Support qualification and production implementation of new or modified plating and chemical processes with cross-functional teams.
• Interpret engineering drawings, aerospace specifications, and customer requirements to ensure compliant manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with tooling engineering to evaluate plating fixtures, anode configurations, masking, and other tooling requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and training to shop-floor personnel on plating processes, controls, and troubleshooting.
• Support NADCAP accreditation activities, internal audits, and corrective action investigations to maintain compliance with aerospace requirements.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, Laboratory, and EH&S teams to investigate nonconformances and drive improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on plating quality, process reliability, and efficiency.
• Perform additional manufacturing engineering responsibilities to support site objectives.
