Job summary

Collins Aerospace, a leader in aerospace and defense, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support electroplating and chemical processing in a landing gear MRO facility. You will maintain process stability, troubleshoot complex plating challenges, and drive improvements in safety, quality, and efficiency.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Laboratory teams to ensure compliant processes and practical shop-floor solutions.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in STEM or related field, with 5 years of experience (or 3 years with an advanced degree).
• Experience in industrial electroplating, electrochemical processing, or related chemical manufacturing operations.
• Experience interpreting technical specifications, developing clear process documentation, and troubleshooting complex processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering support for aerospace electroplating and chemical processing operations, including hard chrome, sulfamate nickel, cadmium plating, and chemical stripping processes.
• Troubleshoot plating defects, process instability, chemistry-related issues, and equipment performance to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Analyze plating bath chemistry, operating parameters, and process performance to identify improvement opportunities and maintain process capability.
• Develop, review, and maintain manufacturing work instructions, process documentation, and technical procedures.
• Lead process qualification and requalification activities, including qualification plans and testing coordination.
• Support qualification and production implementation of new or modified plating processes with cross-functional teams.
• Interpret engineering drawings, aerospace specifications, and customer requirements to establish compliant processes.
