Job summary

Kairos Power is seeking a Senior Platform Security and Reliability Engineer to own the security baseline and reliability posture of cloud and HPC platforms. You will lead controls, automation, and recovery mechanisms for defensible and dependable systems used by design, research, and development teams.

You will set technical direction for platform security across AWS and Google Cloud, manage identity and secrets, machine image security, network security, and observability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, cloud, security, and site reliability engineering.
• Experience designing, securing, and operating production cloud infrastructure with strong AWS experience.
• Strong Linux administration, hardening, and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with infrastructure and cloud tooling and automation.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain platform security baseline and controls across cloud and container environments.
• Own IAM, secrets, certificates, and access governance.
• Automate security checks, inventory, and evidence collection for compliance.
• Lead incident response, recovery, and blameless post-incident reviews.
• Drive observability, metrics, logs, and alerting for platform services.
