Job summary

Kairos Power is seeking a Senior Platform Security and Reliability Engineer to own security and reliability for its cloud and HPC platforms. You will set security baselines across AWS and Google Cloud, manage identity, secrets, and certificates, and drive automated recovery, incident response, and cost visibility.

The role focuses on building scalable controls, retiring duplicative services, and enabling engineers to operate secure, dependable platforms with well‑defined guardrails.

Responsibilities

• Define, implement, and maintain the security baseline for cloud and Linux platforms.
• Own platform security controls in AWS and Google Cloud, including logging and guardrails.
• Design least-privilege access patterns across cloud accounts and internal services.
• Own image pipelines with hardening, vulnerability scanning, and testing.
• Automate identity, secrets, and certificate lifecycle management.
• Automate compliance checks and maintain configuration data across systems.
• Lead reliability, recovery, incident response, and blameless post-incident reviews.
• Define service health indicators and objectives for platform services.
• Engineer automated recovery and self-healing, including backups and DR.
