Job summary

Gemini is seeking a Senior Manager to lead Platform Security in the United States. The role blends leadership with hands-on security engineering—writing Terraform, reviewing PRs, and shaping architecture alongside engineers.

You will partner with Engineering, Compliance, and Security leadership to drive a security-focused culture while scaling platforms for hypergrowth. Hybrid US-based work with strong base compensation and equity opportunities.

Qualifications

• Led cloud-native engineering or security teams for 5+ years.
• Hands-on coding/IaC in the last 2–3 years.
• Strong AWS/EKS/IAM experience.
• Experience with security frameworks and audits.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical leadership of Gemini's Platform Security team, personally architecting and implementing security solutions alongside engineers.
• Align team‑wide strategy with the needs of the business, internal partners, & peer Security leadership.
• Enable the ongoing success & growth of the team through mentorship, design reviews, and hands‑on support.
• Establish a Platform Security roadmap to increase maturity while reducing toil through automation.
• Serve as a senior escalation point, contributing code/IaC when needed.
• Foster trust‑centric relationships with partner teams to achieve security outcomes.
