Job summary

Gemini is seeking a Senior Platform Security Engineer to build and maintain security controls across cloud and non‑cloud infrastructure. You will own security initiatives from design through production, writing production code daily and partnering with engineering teams to deliver secure platforms.

Strong skills in Python or Go, AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform are required. This hands‑on role offers a hybrid work model with office hubs in New York, California, and Washington.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Information Security, SRE, or Systems Engineering.
• Strong software development skills in Python or Go with production services experience.
• Solid experience with AWS (or similar cloud providers), including IAM, VPCs, and native security controls.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes/EKS and containerization concepts (pod security policies, lifecycle).
• Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain security controls for AWS and Kubernetes (EKS) environments, including guardrails, container security scanning, and IaC security (Terraform).
• Support IAM initiatives by designing and maintaining access controls, RBAC models, and identity governance workflows.
• Design, deploy, and maintain internal security services and platforms used by other engineering teams.
• Partner with engineering teams to enable secure delivery without blocking innovation.
• Collaborate with AppSec, Threat Detection, and GRC to identify and reduce risk across the stack.
• Participate in on‑call rotation for platform security incidents.
