Job summary

Electronic Arts' Central Technology and Security teams seek a Senior Security Software Engineer II who leads cross-team initiatives, shapes internal platforms, and raises reliability and security across EA's software.

You will operate in a polyglot environment across Node.js, .NET, Rust, PHP, React, Kubernetes, AWS, and CI/CD tools, delivering scalable systems with strong developer experience.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience building and operating distributed systems at scale.
• Track record delivering complex technical initiatives across multiple teams or domains.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with proficiency in at least one modern programming language.
• Experience across a polyglot technology stack: backend services, frontend platforms, and infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of SRE principles including observability, SLIs/SLOs, and incident management.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automated pipelines.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, define problems, and drive solutions without detailed direction.
• Strong communication and influencing skills across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive large cross-cutting technical initiatives spanning multiple teams and domains.
• Define and break down ambiguous problems and lead them to high-impact solutions.
• Design and evolve internal platforms and shared services for scalability and reliability.
• Establish engineering patterns and best practices in system design and reliability.
• Lead architectural decisions balancing performance, reliability, cost, and delivery speed.
• Contribute to critical parts of the system needing deep technical expertise.
• Improve production operations, including monitoring and incident response.
• Influence technical direction through design reviews and collaboration.
• Mentor engineers, especially seniors, to raise the technical bar across the org.
• Partner with EA teams to reduce friction with better platform design and tooling.
