Job summary

Ticketmaster is seeking a Principal Software Engineer, Payments in North Carolina or Florida (Remote). You will work on our platform payments systems, spanning decades of C/C++ code, with real-time processing across multiple gateways.

You will modernize architectures to gRPC, explore Rust, and drive security, performance, and reliability in high-volume transactions. Collaboration with ops and partners is essential, including on-call during peak onsales.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional C++ development experience in production environments.
• Fluency in modern C++
• Strong systems programming, memory management, concurrency, and performance optimization
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments
• PCI-DSS knowledge and implementation experience
• GPRC service architecture and microservices
• Payment gateway integration experience
• PCI-DSS compliance knowledge

Responsibilities

• Maintain and modernize high-throughput payment processing systems
• Drive platform migration work to Linux via Clang and Bazel
• Develop robust payment integrations with third-party gateways
• Decompose legacy IPC frameworks into gRPC services
• Implement security-critical features including encryption and PCI compliance
• Optimize latency in transaction processing pipelines
• Incrementally modernize legacy codebases
• Design and implement comprehensive testing including unit/integration/fuzz tests
• Collaborate with payment operations to onboard new methods
