Job summary

True North Consultants seeks an experienced Payments Systems Engineer to build and scale a modern enterprise payments platform across in-store POS, e-commerce, mobile, kiosk, and call center channels.

You will design robust payment services with C#/.NET, integrate through APIs with processors and banks, and deliver secure, scalable transaction processing in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on development with C# and .NET/.NET Core.
• Experience building RESTful APIs.
• Experience integrating applications with external platforms, vendors, or third-party APIs.
• Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar databases.
• Understanding of secure coding practices and data protection.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex production systems and transactions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, and enhance payment services and APIs using C# and .NET/.NET Core.
• Develop backend services supporting payment transactions across POS, e‑commerce, mobile, kiosk, and call center channels.
• Integrate with payment processors, gateways, acquiring banks, and third‑party providers.
• Build a universal payment abstraction layer to simplify cross-provider integrations.
• Support authorization, capture, settlement, refunds, and chargebacks in production.
• Ensure scalable, observable services with strong reliability for high-volume environments.
