Job summary

Genius AI in San Francisco is seeking a senior leader to own the Compute, Data, and DevEx platforms. You will set reliability standards, manage vendor spend, and build a self-service platform enabling engineers to ship quickly.

You will report to the VP of Engineering and work in-office 3-4 days per week. The role requires 8+ years in infra/platform engineering and strong leadership in high-growth tech.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of infrastructure or platform engineering experience with at least 4 years managing teams.
• AI-driven improvements shaping engineering operations.
• Decisive, data-driven technical leadership.
• Experience scaling teams during high growth.
• Hands-on debugging distributed systems.
• Business acumen: balance cloud spend and velocity.

Responsibilities

• Own the infra and data platform roadmap to scale to higher traffic while maintaining 99.95% uptime and controlling cloud spend across AWS regions.
• Shape AI enablement layer so engineers can delegate routine tasks to agents.
• Define reliability practice with SLI/SLOs, incident response, and post-mortems.
• Raise developer experience via CI standardization and self-service tooling for infra-as-code.
• Lead incident command during outages and implement systemic fixes rather than follow-up tickets.
• Own vendor strategy and migrations when cost or capability justify.
