Job summary

BlackRock, Inc. is seeking a senior engineering leader to own Hyperion, BlackRock's AI-enabled data-processing platform for unstructured information in Private Markets.

You will set architectural direction, drive end-to-end delivery, and lead engineers through scalable, production-grade solutions. You will partner with Aladdin leaders to shape strategy, build a robust roadmap, and foster an inclusive culture focused on ownership, reliability, and innovation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of designing, launching, and owning enterprise-scale, production-grade platforms in business-critical environments.
• Strong senior-level technical judgement and analytical problem-solving skills, with experience making architectural and prioritisation trade-offs.
• Advanced expertise in distributed systems and workflow orchestration, including scalable data-processing architectures.
• Proficiency in Python for data pipelines, orchestration, and automation, with solid software engineering practices (version control, testing, CI/CD).
• Advanced expertise in platform engineering, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud-native technologies.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical leadership and architectural direction for Hyperion, making strategic trade-offs and evaluating innovative technologies.
• Lead end-to-end delivery and production operations of the platform with accountability for scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate with Aladdin leaders to define strategic direction and translate priorities into a concrete engineering roadmap.
• Mentor, coach, and develop engineers while fostering an ownership culture and continuous improvement.
• Build strong partnerships with internal platform teams to align approaches and deliver shared capabilities.
• Design Hyperion to support early adopters and evolve toward intuitive, self-service capabilities for developers and non-technical users.
• Maintain high standards of security, software quality, documentation, testing, governance, and operational resilience.
