Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer I - Platform for its Albuquerque, New Mexico facility. You will design, implement, and maintain platform and OS environments to enable global engineers and operations. This role focuses on VMware, Windows Server/Client, Linux, and automation through Ansible.

You will lead upgrades, manage projects, and implement standards for deployment, hardening, and disaster recovery to ensure high availability and security across Rocket Lab’s IT platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT experience; 3+ years in platform-focused roles.
• Strong Ansible experience and automation skills.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, VMware, Linux configuration management, and IaC.

Responsibilities

• Enable Rocket Lab engineers worldwide by delivering platform infrastructure.
• Lead upgrades and maintenance with a focus on reliability and security.
• Plan and deploy platform infra projects (VMware, Kubernetes, Linux, Windows).
• Champion configuration management standards and automation to ensure compliant baselines.
• Provide SME guidance for IT systems delivery and project execution.
