Job summary

Medica is seeking a Senior Platform & Integration Engineer to own and evolve our event-driven, cloud-native platforms. You will administer Kafka and Confluent Cloud and manage AKS/Kubernetes clusters across on‑prem and cloud environments.

The role partners with security, infrastructure, and enterprise architecture to advance our cloud modernization journey. You will design CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions, drive automation via IaC, and implement observability with Prometheus

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of work experience beyond degree.
• 5+ years in platform engineering, cloud operations, or enterprise integration.
• Hands-on Kafka, Confluent Cloud, AKS/Kubernetes, Azure, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions experience.
• Experience with Azure resource management, cloud deployments, and network troubleshooting.
• Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• Experience with containerization, distributed systems, and deployment strategies.

Responsibilities

• Administer, support, and optimize Kafka platforms across on-premises and Confluent Cloud.
• Manage AKS and Kubernetes platforms including cluster administration, networking, and security.
• Serve as Azure Cloud Administrator for provisioning, deployment, and configuration.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
• Drive automation and IaC practices to improve provisioning and deployment.
• Implement observability and monitoring with Splunk, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Lead incident management with root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Establish platform governance and security controls across cloud and integration platforms.
• Provide guidance and mentorship in Kafka, Kubernetes, Azure, and DevOps.
