Job summary

Alkira is seeking a Senior Platform Infrastructure Software Engineer to own the foundational layer used across the engineering organization, including the global Kubernetes footprint, internal CI/CD runners, and shared infrastructure. You will design, build, and operate Terraform/OpenTofu modules and tooling in Go or Python.

You will mentor engineers, drive cost efficiency, participate in on-call rotations, and help establish observability and platform service standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• 5+ years in infrastructure/DevOps/SRE.
• Deep production Kubernetes experience.
• Strong Terraform/OpenTofu experience at scale.
• Go or Python production tooling experience.
• Experience with stateful shared services.
• Linux fundamentals and networking knowledge.
• Hands-on cloud provider experience.

Responsibilities

• Own global Kubernetes footprint across regions and clouds.
• Manage internal CI/CD runners and build platforms.
• Oversee shared infrastructure: databases, object storage, registries.
• Lifecycle management of platform services (PKI, vaults, operators).
• Design reusable Terraform/OpenTofu modules for other teams.
• Own observability stack and instrumentation standards.
• Build production tooling in Go or Python; code-focused work.
• Mentor engineers via code/design reviews; provide guidance.
• Participate in on-call rotation for Platform Infrastructure.
