Job summary

Sam's Club is seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to lead platform-level execution of software and AI/ML systems, aligning with priorities and roadmap milestones. You will oversee infrastructure, tooling, frameworks, DevOps practices, and cloud cost optimization while mentoring engineers and guiding architectural decisions.

The role collaborates with product, project, and UX teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions in a dynamic Walmart tech environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
2 years’ supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

Lead platform-level execution of software and AI/ML systems, ensuring alignment with domain priorities and roadmap milestones.
Oversee shared infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks to support scalable, secure development.
Drive full software development lifecycle across multiple teams, championing DevOps architecture and CI/CD practices.
Manage cloud cost optimization and enhance automation, telemetry, and tooling to improve reliability and efficiency.
Mentor engineers, guide architectural decisions, and promote technical quality and compliance standards.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define priorities, track progress, and ensure delivery of complex technical initiatives.
Foster continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and products.
