Job summary

ServiceNow is seeking a Sr. Manager, Data Platform to lead a 6–10 engineer team building and operating core cloud-native platform services. You will own delivery, people, and technical direction for the team’s domain, partnering with platform leadership to set priorities and roadmaps.

You will stay hands-on as a player-coach, review designs and code, and help shape architecture while fostering a healthy, high-trust engineering culture across hyperscaler, on-prem, and sovereign environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building production software and distributed systems.
• 5+ years managing software engineers and hiring top talent.
• Hands-on with major hyperscalers (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong Kubernetes, containers, CI/CD, and GitOps knowledge.
• Excellent communication with engineers and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead, grow, and develop a team of software engineers who design, build, and operate services within the cloud-native platform.
• Own end-to-end delivery for the team’s domain including roadmap alignment with product and platform leadership.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and operability of services; establish SLOs, on-call practices, and operational reviews.
• Partner with principal engineers and workload teams to align work with platform architecture and standards.
• Maintain a player-coach style by reviewing designs and code, contributing to architectural decisions.
