Job summary

Peraton in Chantilly, VA seeks a Platform Engineer SME to provide senior technical leadership for operating, engineering, and sustaining a mission‑critical enterprise software platform used by an Intelligence Community customer.

You will set technical direction, lead Tier 3 escalations and incident response, mentor engineers, and coordinate with architecture, cybersecurity, and program leadership to keep the platform secure, reliable, and available.

Qualifications

Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field with 12+ years of experience.
Extensive Kubernetes experience in enterprise platforms.
Experience with AWS/Azure or government clouds and hybrid/cloud/on-prem.
Infrastructure as code, configuration management, automation tools (Terraform/Ansible).
Experience building and leading secure CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

Establish technical direction and standards for deployment and sustainment of platform infrastructure.
Lead design and optimization of platform capabilities across hybrid cloud and on‑prem environments.
Provide oversight of IaC, configuration management, automation, and CI/CD capabilities.
Guide implementation of zero trust security controls, IAM, and network segmentation.
Oversee onboarding and integration of tenants, apps, and services across the platform.
Lead major incident response and root cause analysis to drive engineering improvements.
