Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Mid-Level Platform Engineer in Chantilly, VA to support the development, operation, and sustainment of a mission-critical enterprise software platform. Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field with 5+ years of relevant experience (or 9+ years substituting for degree).
• Hands-on containerized workloads in production using Kubernetes or a Kubernetes-based platform.
• Experience with at least one major cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or gov cloud) and hybrid/on-prem infrastructure.
• IaC technologies: Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Troubleshooting across Linux, DNS, routing, load balancers, and IAM.
• DoD 8140/8570 IAT II certification or ability to obtain.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot platform components across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments, including Kubernetes-based platforms.
• Support operation and sustainment of containerized workloads and platform updates.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Support CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance for secure, repeatable deployments.
• Implement and maintain platform security configurations including IAM and least-privilege controls.
• Onboard new mission tenants, applications, and shared services to the enterprise platform.
• Monitor platform health, availability, and performance with logs, metrics, and dashboards.
• Provide Tier 3 support for escalated incidents across compute, storage, networking, and container infra.
• Triage incidents, document findings, and perform root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Produce technical runbooks and documentation; contribute to knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity to maintain secure configurations and accreditation.
• Participate in rotating on-site shifts and after-hours on-call rotation.
