Job summary

SIXGEN seeks a Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, and secure scalable in-house infrastructure for a high-assurance environment. You will own virtualization, networking, identity, and monitoring, from bare metal to prod, ensuring auditable, reproducible operations.

You will master Type-1 hypervisors, IaC tooling, and security controls, delivering a hardened, scalable platform with strong automation and governance in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in platform, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering of production virtualization, networking, and Linux environments.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Deep hands-on with a Type-1 hypervisor (Proxmox VE, KVM/QEMU, VMware ESXi).
• Strong network engineering and security skills: segmentation, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, PKI/mTLS.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and administer a highly available hypervisor cluster with shared storage and GPU passthrough.
• Automate provisioning of isolated workload VMs with auditable access.
• Own internal DNS, PKI/mTLS, time sync, and encrypted name resolution.
• Develop automation and IaC to stand up and decommission workloads and manage software supply chain.
