Job summary

Komodo Health is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the technical direction of KMC/PSS, App Builder, and Connector. You will ensure a reliable, secure, cost‑efficient platform and partner with Product, FDE, and customer‑facing teams to turn complex onboarding requirements into robust systems.

You’ll own platform metrics, observability, and cross‑team collaboration, while mentoring engineers and driving self‑service tooling. The role emphasizes AI‑powered workflows and scalable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Expert-level backend engineering experience (Python + FastAPI) building and operating APIs and microservices at scale.
• Proven track record designing and evolving core platform primitives in a multi-tenant SaaS environment.
• Profound experience with AWS core services and the ability to architect secure, scalable solutions.
• Familiarity with modern data platforms and observability (metrics, logs, traces, events).
• Ability to design solutions balancing performance, cost, maintainability, reliability, and developer experience.
• Demonstrated leadership & collaboration across cross-functional teams.
• Comfort leveraging AI tools and integrating AI workflows into the SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical direction across KMC/PSS and App Builder + Connector.
• Turn onboarding and platform requirements into robust systems.
• Scale self-service onboarding and expand platform surface area.
• Collaborate with Product, FDE, and customer-facing teams.
• Own monitoring, observability, and on-call rotation for platform services.
• Escalate and triage complex cross-system incidents to protect reliability.
• Mentor engineers and drive cross-team projects to completion.
• Integrate authentication services with various APIs and external systems.
