Job summary

GoTickets is a growing live-event ticket marketplace building scalable infrastructure. We are seeking a hands-on Lead Platform Engineer to own the performance, reliability, and security of our production platform, working closely with the SVP of Engineering and founder.

You will start as a senior IC with opportunities to grow into leading a platform team as the business scales; you will tackle architecture decisions, incident response, and cloud optimization across AWS and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

Approximately 5–10+ years in Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Infrastructure.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Amazon EKS.
Production experience with Terraform infrastructure.
Experience with Cloudflare, cloud security, and infrastructure access management.
Demonstrated on-call rotations, troubleshooting production outages, and root-cause analysis.
Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
Strong knowledge of AWS IAM, networking, infrastructure security, and monitoring.

Responsibilities

Own infrastructure health across staging and production, including Kubernetes and AWS services.
Establish performance baselines, SLOs, monitoring dashboards, and alerts.
Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident response for production issues.
Identify errors, troubleshoot outages, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
Improve platform scalability to handle traffic spikes during live events.
Own high availability and disaster recovery, including backups and failover procedures.
Manage infrastructure upgrades, patching, vulnerability remediation, and cost optimization.
