Job summary

Welcome Pickups is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to keep the core platform reliable, fast, scalable, and secure. You will work across product teams to ensure rides, pricing, and partner syncs run smoothly, even as the business grows.

You will define architecture, set engineering standards, and own the technical roadmap with the Core Platform Team. This hands-on role requires delivering high availability while moving quickly with safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, backend focus.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field.
• Proven experience operating and scaling production systems.

Responsibilities

• Define and track reliability targets for core flows (SLAs/SLOs).
• Lead architecture decisions for scaling backend systems.
• Define and enforce security best practices and compliance readiness.
• Improve internal tooling, CI/CD and deployment workflows.
• Collaborate with Product and engineering teams to maintain a clear technical roadmap.
